The Hansen Story

The Kim Hansen tradition of "treating the customer right" started long before becoming a second generation GM dealer in 1977.

Kim grew up working in his father's GM dealership in Brigham City, Utah, where he started out reconditioning used cars and changing tires. Through his high school and college years, he worked in nearly every department in the dealership including the service, parts, and sales departments.

He learned the car business from his father, K.V. Hansen, who sold cars to many of the customers that drove to the dealership from the surrounding states to purchase from a trusted friend. Many times Kim witnessed his father sell vehicles by telephone. The customer would simply say "you know what we want, and we know you'll treat us fair...so pick one out for us and we'll be down to pick it up." Customers knew that they could count on his honest pricing. Kim continues this tradition.

Kim Hansen Chevrolet-Oldsmobile-Buick began when he purchased the Soda Springs, Idaho dealership at the age of twenty-five, making him one of the youngest GM auto franchisees. Seven successful years later, he sold that store and moved to Burley and the Magic Valley. In 1988, he expanded his operations and opened a satellite dealership in Rupert.

Over the years, Kim Hansen has delivered cars and trucks to thousands of customers and made friends all over the western U.S. It's the people that make the difference in the Kim Hansen buying and service experience. The tradition of treating the customer beyond their expectations continues. Honest pricing, financing, and leasing terms, with customer satisfaction ratings that regularly exceed national, area, and local benchmarks, are all a barometer of our success.
